Cleaning, Drying & Maintaining - Rock The Bike Blender Pitchers

Cleaning -
As soon as possible after use, fill the pitcher halfway with warm water and add a drop or two of dish soap. Pedal fast or pulse for 30 to 60 seconds before rinsing thoroughly. Don't let smoothies or ingredients sit for prolonged periods or dry in your pitcher.

If ingredients are sticking, get the pitcher wet and scrub with a soapy dish brush, keeping fingers safely away from the blades. Don't leave the pitcher to soak.

Drying  -
A. Lay pitchers on their side to dry, so water doesn't pool around the shaft & bearings or
B. thoroughly dry the bottom, especially around the shaft, and set upside down to dry.

Storage -
When thoroughly dry, pitchers can be stored in any orientation, with or without the lid on

Maintenance -
Periodically rotate the shaft by hand or with the bicycle blender to keep the bearings lubricated.

If the shaft feels stiff:
1. set the pitcher upside down,
2. apply a few drops of mineral oil around the shaft (or other thin food-grade lubricant, like MCT oil),
3. rotate it back and forth to work the oil in
4. Allow it to sit for a day or more, rotate the shaft, and repeat as necessary until the shaft moves easily.
5. Wipe off any excess oil when complete.

Tip: Using a toothpick can help get the oil into the narrow gap and onto the shaft.

If the shaft won't rotate:
1. apply oil all the way around the shaft,
2. wait a day or more
3. use pliers to wiggle it loose
