The Xtracycle and the FBX are a great combination. During the week you commute and do the shopping. On Sunday, you roll to the park and crank out smoothies at the barbeque. You don’t need tools to set up your bike for blending.
The FBX uses Snap Hooks to spread the U-shaped ‘V-Racks’ apart and hold its position relative to the tire. Many newer Xtracycle builds use ‘Superhooks’ on the underside of their deck. The SuperHooks capture the V-Racks to attach the black plastic ‘Flight Deck’. Switching to blending mode will require removing the superhooks with an Allen key. If you want to do this frequently and you don’t need the extra security that the SuperHooks provide, you can substitute Snap Hooks which do not require tools to remove. Simply spread the racks apart with your hand while pushing up or down with the deck and the hooks will engage or disengage.
Requires the use of a double kickstand, the Kickback.
