Picture a group of friends (old and new) cruising to the sounds of Marvin Gaye, his lyrics of peace and love coming through rich and clear, while your friends sing along, “Brother, brother…” The scenes of the city flowing by, people giving you a thumbs up or a shout of support, spreading joy, pied piper style, as your group increases in size with more bikers.

Some people wonder “Why would you want to listen to music on a bicycle?” Read why a bicycle is actually the perfect place to listen to music.

We run each Soul Cycle design through a rigorous series of tests: the BART cop smile test, the bass-sets-off-car-alarms test, the screaming, dancing teenagers test, etc. Oh, and we test the wiring and battery packs of each one too. A lot of soul goes into our Soul Cycles. We know these bikes will help you spread your love for bikes and music in your community. Contact us to find out which design is right for you. • Fast Charger

Our smart charger makes it fast and easy to charge your DLG battery safely. Just connect it to your DLG battery with the power switch in the ON position. You’ll see the charger’s LED light turn red. After the charge cycle completes, the LED turns green, and you’re ready to cruise again.

The smart charger takes all the guess work out of charging your battery. We chose a very gentle trickle charger to include with the DLG, but even so, it can still overcharge if left on the battery for days at a time. Sometimes a full trickle charge will take 6 hours; sometimes it will take 12 hours, depending on how low the battery is. The fast charger only charges as much as the battery needs. So you don’t have to monitor it. And it takes a fifth of the time.

The smart charger also has the advantage of accepting both 110 and 220 AC power. So if you travel a lot, this is the one to get.

We offer European and UK compatible cords, just add a comment when ordering if you need the Euro or UK plug style.

Our unique Soul Cycles are customizeable with your artwork and lighting. Pair it with the Down Low Glow for a sizzlin’ ride.

Here’s what comes in the basic DIY pack for the Soul Cycle Classic:

  • Soul Cycle Mothership Cabinet

When you’re feeling the need to “bring the beat, bring the light” in your community, you need to at least consider the Soul Cycle Mothership cabinet, designed for the Xtracycle and Mundo. The Mothership provides a stunning alternative to building your own cabinet .

With that preamble, let’s introduce some of the features of the Soul Cycle Mothership cabinet:

    • This item is a separate purchase from our Soul Cycle Head Unit and our new Soul Cycle DIT Head Unit. The new Soul Cycle Mothership cabinet is fully compatible with the Soul Cycle Head Units we have sold over the past few years and will sell in the future.
    • The fiberglass cabinet is extremely strong. Fiberglass is an amazing material for how light and strong it is. On two occasions I’ve seen my Choprical Fish fall on its side, one time off a curb! And it literally just left a scratch. This cabinet is designed for all types of terrain, from a smooth concrete boardwalk, to the fireroads leading to your secret eco-party. It can survive being dropped, though why would you want to? It’s so cute.
    • Beautiful lighting mods will abound. We’ve only scratched the surface with what can be done on the lighting front. You can either choose to customize it yourself, or let us take a stab for you.
    • Internal shelf allows you to place an amp, rechargeable battery, or other electronics like a wireless microphone. This will be a removeable slat that you can essentially pull out of the cabinet when you need to change or troubleshoot something.
    • Available with amp and speakers. Price listed is for cabinet itself.

I got the idea to make the Mothership last year after I had completed the Choprical Fish. I was jazzed about what can be done with fiberglass, but scared about how long it seems to take each time I take on a new project. I wanted to be able to turn out an attractive fiberglass cabinet for a customer without having to turn my life upside-down. And I wanted it to be easy enough I can train someone to do it in a day.

Hey, you only live once! You know, there haven’t been too many times in history when you can click “Buy It Now” and score something as downright life-changing as this Soul Cycle Mothership cabinet. And also there haven’t been too many times in history when our planet was as much in need of everyday superheroes as it is right now. I promise you that the environmental toll of making this product — the epoxy resin, polyurethane moldmaking rubber, and gas it took FEDEX to get it to you, etc. — will be made up a thousand times over with the amazing catalytic effect it will have on people in your community when you roll through playing your music. You have no idea how many people ask me about getting a bike because they know me as “the guy who rides through the Mission with that rad party bike.” And it feels good to know that through this unique branch of the bike culture arts — cruising with music — we can inspire so much positive change, while fully rocking out, of course.

  • In The Pocket Head Unit

The In-The-Pocket Head Unit is the brains and brawn of your cruising experience. Inside this small, handcrafted, dovetail joined wooden box is a 30 watt digital amplifier and a rechargeable battery good for 5-10 hours of cruising.

The Soul Cycle makes it so easy to go cruising, you can literally be out doing it the first night you receive your order. From the moment you get the inspiration to cruise, you can have your speakers and the head unit set up in five minutes or less. The Soul Cycle Head Unit mounts positively to your handlebars using the German-engineered KlickFix system. It’s a one-button release, so when it’s time to roll into a restaurant, you can take the head unit with you. Similarly the output cord on the head unit uses a twist-lock connector, making it easy to attach and undo.

30 watts may not sound like a lot when compared to 1000-watt Car Audio subwoofer amplifiers. But that’s the great thing about bicycle audio. On a bike there’s no engine noise to compete with, and the wind noise is also greatly reduced. Another thing to keep in mind when comparing wattage numbers is that audio power is measured exponentially, so a 1000-watt amplifier only plays music about 2.5 times louder than a 30-watt amp. In practice, the Soul Cycle Head Unit is big enough to deliver a satisfying bass thump on dance music, and get 5 or 10 of your friends singing along to David Bowie, Aretha, Pavorotti, or whatever music you like to cruise to.

This Head Unit has no speakers and therefore doesn’t make any sound on it’s own. It contains an amplifier and a built-in rechargeable battery. You simply pair the Head Unit with household or car audio speakers of any size, from bookshelf speakers to tall party speakers. The Xtracycle Sport Utility Bike helps with carrying the latter category.

If you’re trying to make your party bike as sleek as possible, you may want to consider one of our custom speaker enclosures. They’ll fit perfectly on your rack or seatpost, make your setup time even lower than with bookshelf speakers, and turn your everyday transportation bike into a party bike.
