What are the dimensions of the DLG's components?

The Down Low Glow light tubes are 12.5" long and 1" in diameter. 

The cable that connects the light tubes to the black inverter box is 8.5" to 10.5" long. 

The black inverter box is 1" tall, 1.125" wide and 3.5" long. 

The cable that connect the inverter box to the battery are 12.5" to 14.5" long. 

The battery is 1.25" wide, 4" long and 1.75" tall and weighs 1lb (the heaviest component).

 

 

 

 

I have a frame with a big fat tube. Will the Down Low Glow fit my bike?

The Down Low Glow's stretch straps can reach around a coffee mug. If you have a frame with a big fat tube, please ask us to include extra stretch straps and zip ties so that you can extend the straps if they're too short. You can make this request in the "notes" field when you purchase the DLG online, or place your order by phone. There's no extra cost. We want to get you glowing!

Can the Down Low Glow be powered by a tire-rubbing or hub generator?

Most tire-rubbing and hub generators produce 6 Volts. The Down Low Glow is probably within the power rating of these hubs, but requires 12 Volt power. We do not currently offer a generator version, nor do we sell a voltage-converter to handle this difference. We encourage those interested in this approach to consider our rechargeable systems because they offer consistent bright light when you need it most -- when you are stopped in an intersection waiting to turn.

What powers the Down Low Glow?

The Down Low Glow comes with a lightweight NiMh rechargeable battery. It weighs 10.5 oz and is the heaviest component of the DLG system. It is weatherproof and has a high quality coaxial power connector that mates with our DLG chargers, and with the DLG light tubes. It also has a foam strip underneath the outer rubber layer, to prevent road vibrations from dislodging it.
