The Juice Peddler (Nate Byerley)

Nate is a passionate environmentalist, inventor, human power afficionado, and entrepreneur. He developed the bike blenders sold by Rock the Bike, and used them to sell thousands of bike-blended smoothies at festivals in 2005 and 2006.

Nate recently stepped into a new role as leader of Xtracycle. We're sorry to see him less around the Rock the Bike workshop, and psyched that he'll be guiding the Xtracycle mothership to new galaxies.

Nice writeup of the human powered music scene in World Changing

Quotation:
Gabe, Paul, and Nate put their heads together to build the first lightweight, portable, bike powered P/A system loud enough for a rock show, and a more sustainable form of rock & roll was born. With Rock The Bike’s sponsorship, Gabe soon became a proud guinea pig in the first ever bike-powered rock tour.

Rock the Bike collaborator The Juice Peddler's uncanny earth (and media) friendly inventions have surfaced yet again at the Virgin Music Festival in Baltimore this past weekend, where Sir Richard Branson pedaled himself a smoothie on the Fender Blender.
